Four Bulgaria fans arrested for subjecting England players to racist abuse happen to be fined 1,000 Bulgarian lev (#443) and prohibited from sports events for a couple of decades.
The 6-0 Euro 2020 qualifier win in Sofia on Monday of england was stopped in the first half after racist chanting by home supporters.
The four fans were punished by authorities – rather than the countrys courts – under Bulgarias law for thesecurity of public order through sports events.
Another fan was detained on Wednesday, bringing the entire number.
One of those seven is a minor, the Bulgaria Ministry of Interior told BBC Sport.
Borislav Mikhailov, president of Bulgarias soccer association, resigned on Tuesday.
Bulgaria manager Krasimir Balakov said after the game hedid not hear any chanting, with previously accused England of having a larger racism problem.
But Balakov later posted an announcement on Facebook, admitting the episodes on Monday along with apologising toEnglish footballers and also to those who believed offended.
I condemn all forms of racism as an unacceptable behavior that interrupts ordinary human relations, he further added.
Legend Hristo Stoichkov became emotional when he was requested on tv to avoid a similar incident in future. He advocated thatlovers arent allowed in the stadium or perhaps [face] thicker punishments.
