Former Kerry star Mike Quirke will be set to become the new director of the Laois footballers.
Laois Today are reporting the four-time All-Ireland winner is set to become the Kerry native to take the reins at a Leinster county before 2020, following Paul Galvin and Jack O’Connor took the Kildare and Wexford occupations.
Quirke will take over from John Sugrue, who oversaw back-to-back promotions in the National League. Sugrue directed the side to around four of the qualifiers in championships.
Quirke becomes the fifth Kerry man to lead the O’Moore County Lately, following Liam Kearns Mick O’Dwyer, Tom??s ?? Flatharta and Sugrue.
The club guy of Even the Kerins O’Rahilly will be planning to keep the progress.
