ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 Format
The group stage of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 will observe a single set of ten groups, with each team playing the other nine teams at a round-robin arrangement. The top four teams at the conclusion of the group stage will progress to the knockout stage comprising of 2 semi-finals and a final. The winner from each semi-final will then battle it out.

Shaun Marsh Out of CWC 2019 via Injury (05-July-2019)
Australia batsman Shaun Marsh has been ruled out using a forearm of the rest of the Cricket World Cup 2019. He sustained the injury after being struck on his right forearm with a Pat Cummins delivery while practicing in the nets on the eve of the final league match against South Africa. The Australia group has announced wicketkeeper-batsman Peter Handscomb as a replacement for Marsh within their group.
Vijay Shankar’s World Cup Campaign Ends Due to Injury (01-July-2019)
India all-rounder Vijay Shankar has been ruled out of the remainder of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 with a toe injury that kept him out of action against England. Ignoring Ambati Rayudu, the team management has announced uncapped batsman Mayank Agarwal as Shankar’s replacement.
Nuwan Pradeep Ruled Out of CWC 2019 with Chickenpox (01-July-2019)
Sri Lanka pace bowler Nuwan Pradeep has been ruled out of the remainder of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 and has been shipped back home due to Chickenpox. Kasun Rajitha has been known as a like-for-like replacement for Pradeep. He played with a one-day international earlier this year in March from South Africa.
Sayed Ahmad Shirzad Replaces Aftab Alam at Afghanistan World Cup Squad(27-June-2019)
The Afghanistan Cricket Board has removed pace bowler Aftab Alam from the group’s CWC 2019 squad due to his breach of the ICC’s disciplinary code of conduct. Left-arm seamer Sayed Ahmad Shirzad has been termed as Alam’s replacement for the rest of the tournament.
Sunil Ambris Replaces Andre Russell in WI CWC Squad (26-June-2019)
Andre Russell was ruled from the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 due to a knee injury which had bothered him throughout the championship. The West Indian all-rounder has been substituted in the 15-man group by batsman Sunil Ambris who has represented his country in six one-day internationals, scoring 316 runs at an average of 105.33. Ambris is set to link up with the group before the must-win tie against India on June 27.
Injured Shikhar Dhawan Ruled From Cricket World Cup 2019 (19-June-2019)
The Indian team was dealt a huge setback as opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan was ruled out of the rest of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 because of a fractured left thumb. Dhawan, who sustained the injury while batting throughout the match against Australia, was under observation for over a week. The Indian team management has requested the ICC to get Rishabh Pant as a replacement for Dhawan in the group.
Injured Shikhar Dhawan to Miss Three World Cup Matches (12-June-2019)
India opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan suffered a thumb injury in the game against Australia last Sunday and his involvement in the rest of this World Cup is in doubt. Dhawan was hit on the thumb by a climbing Pat Cummins delivery and was later sent for scans that showed a hairline fracture. He is currently under the observation of the team direction and is set to overlook India’s next three games – against New Zealand, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Rishabh Pant has been called in as cover for Dhawan.
