Votes in Egypt for Mohamed Salah were not counted for the finest FIFA Men’s Player award, FIFA has clarified.
The Egyptian FA maintained that performing head coach Shawky Gharib and captain Ahmed Elmohamady had voted Salah to acquire the award, which went for a sixth time.
Neither Gharib nor Elmohamady were contained about the voting breakdown on FIFA’s website – having an angry response from Salah, who eliminated the word’Egypt’ from his Twitter bio.
In addition, he submitted a tweet, which translates as:”Whatever they do to attempt and change my love for Egypt, they will not succeed.”
The Egyptian FA insisted Salah had been voted for by their two agents and wanted an explanation from FIFA as to the votes were not counted in the ballot.
FIFA has since revealed that the signatures Egypt’s ballots”were in capital letters and thus seemed not legal (not authentic), which”voting types were not signed by the (federation) general secretary which is required”
FIFA contacted the Egyptian FA for affirmation of their ballots then filed”two admissions to submit the correctly signed voting kinds around August 19.”
