England will be taking to the courtroom at 2022 as the defending champions following their triumph on the Gold Coast last year and back to home soil, expectations for achievement will be higher.
“We are thrilled by Birmingham 2022’s decision to relocate netball to your Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and completely support this decision,” explained Liz Nicholl CBE, president of the International Netball Federation.
“While the Coventry Arena Is a Great venue, this movement into the NEC will increase the potential significantly,”
“This [increased capability ] will be welcomed by the netball loved ones and the significant fan base our game now attracts, as seen at the current Netball World Cup in July 2019 once over 110,000 tickets were offered.”
The Commonwealth Games will be held at venues throughout Birmingham and the West Midlands from July 27.
