Wales are covering balls to prepare for humidity.
The method is among a number tried on Monday, 23 September in Tokyo City for their Pool D tournament opener against Georgia as Wales build-up.
“We’ve been using wet balls and already been using baby oil on them too,” said coach Warren Gatland.
“We’ve recorded them up as well, and we have already been through that procedure from the [training] camps we’d.”
Gatland says preparations in Turkey and Switzerland have been intended to assist his players deal with the states in Japan.
“We’ve been around two camps at which one was at elevation and it was very hot in Switzerland, then it was the late 30s in Turkey,” he said.
“We have done as much as possible in terms of addressing the warmth.
“I believe that the humidity will be a factor. It’s possible to observe how warm it is, just with the later kick-offs those temperatures will fall to approximately 20 degrees.
“It is going to be a whole good deal cooler, however, the battle then is going to be the warmth and coping with a slippery ball. It’s how we deal with this.
“The players who have already been to New Zealand will have experienced this. I come from Hamilton, it cluttered there.
“We all know what it’s like and we’ve got players who have undergone a lot of nighttime rollercoaster, therefore we feel we’ve prepared well. We’re looking forward to it”
After facing Georgia, Wales and Fiji, Australia and Uruguay play since they challenge for the quarter-finals in the closing effort of Gatland in charge.
